We recently tabled at The Unity Council's Día de los Muertos Festival in Oakland! It was a great opportunity to engage a diverse community, and share more about the work we do to inspire young people in design. Thank you to everyone who helped make this event a success!

For us at IP, introducing our students to future possibilities is just as important as teaching them about design. With this in mind, we invited students from around the Bay Area to join us for a campus tour of Oakland's @Northeastern University, formerly Mills College!

Announcing the winners of our Halloween Costume Design Contest! 🎃 Check out the designs of our three student and staff winners: Xena (jellyfish🪼), Barbie (Beyoncé at the Grammys 🤠), and Alondra (friendly spider witch 🕸️🧙🏾♀️)!

Check out our students' album covers and beats! 👇🏾🎧 Here's a sample of work from our Music in Design workshop. IP students got to bring their creative visions to life and practiced their presentation skills. We think it's safe to say that this workshop was a major success!
#FBF to our Create at Home booklet! In 2021 when we were deep into shelter-in-place, IP's Advocacy and Engagement Committee created a series of activities to keep our students engaged with our community and their growing design skills. #FutureOfDesign

IP joined Project Level to present Music in Design, a workshop where students created their own album covers and beats! After an icebreaker that helped students consider what goes into being an artist, and Raul's presentation on graphic design concepts, they were creating!

Last month, IP tabled at the Solano Avenue Stroll, a popular street fair in Albany. 200+ community members and students stopped by to see us! We were glad to give everyone details about our upcoming programs (including Summer Design Camp 2025), as well as some IP merch!

Volunteers Wanted!! Help IP support the next generation of Black, Latinx, and underrepresented designers of color! We are looking for Volunteer Community Outreach Coordinators and Volunteer Grant Coordinators. Description of these roles is below and at inneractproject.org/volunteering!

On 9/7, we hosted our last Meet and Greet for the year at the Exploratorium. With students and their families, we explored exhibits, discussed upcoming programs, and connected over pizza. A few lucky students won our gift card raffle, and everyone took home a goody bag! 🍕🎒💳

We've got to shout out the talented Gina Marquez, the vendor we worked with for our Summer Design Camp t-shirts! 👕 (Pictured here with one of our program coordinators, Alondra Maciel.⭐️) Thank you, Gina, for supplying our crew with these awesome shirts! 🙌🏾

#FBF to the #Afrofuturism exhibit at @oaklandmuseumca, which featured designs by IP students! Each of their posters focused on a priority of community organization @EastOaklandBCZ, and visitors to the exhibit could take copies home! 🖼️#DesignEducation #FutureOfDesign

Our IP Volunteer Mixer was a special event honoring the incredible impact of our volunteers. Their commitment helps us strive toward our mission to provide Black, Latinx, and underrepresented students of color educational experiences that lead to careers in design!
