It took a while to build momentum, but the typo.social instance is now generating a steady stream of type, lettering and design related content. The community feed is so focused that I mostly don’t feel the need to follow individual members.
Twelve years ago, a young type designer created a rudimentary font based on a photocopy of the Kangxi Dictionary. Within months, it was on everything from restaurant menus to propaganda posters. sixthtone.com/news/1011200/h…
Traditional Tatar literature is virtually inaccessible for modern Tatars for a similar reason. Till the 20th c we used to be a Persianate culture, so being "educated" implied a decent knowledge of Farsi (at least) and Arabic (ideally). You needed to be at least bilingual

Just reached a big milestone with my converter from #Xcode project to VisualStudio. First 3 InDesign CC.2014 plugins compile and run.
Just found that @TypeKit hides font data from @InDesign plugins, so I can't (yet) show ssXX names. Consider that when shopping for fonts ...
Today I've added Mac CC and CC.2015 versions to the existing CS5, CS6 and CC.2014. Next step is Windows.
cvXX has sampleTextNameId. What about other features? In a button panel (not yet) I’d pick a glyph named „POSTER“, fall back to first GSUB.
@peter_works Besides IMO InDesign layout UI is already overloaded with too many „adornment" handles.
