“If you can do microsurgery, you can learn to braid hair.” For years we shaved heads before brain surgery. Looked closer: leaving hair doesn’t raise risk of complications and patients prefer it. So I braid it. More work, more dignity. They’ll see that in the mirror every day.
I have had the same brain injury patient 3 times over the last month and every time, he doesn’t know who I am, but every time, he tells me I look just like the little boy from stranger things 😂
