Bluesky is really taking off lately - a great time to make the jump if you are still here. Also buy my book: The Astronomers' Library: The Books that Unlocked the Mysteries of the Universe (Liber Historica) a.co/d/7o8Grsg - it’s getting good reviews.

A great pleasure to speak (via Zoom) about my book "The Astronomers' Library" at the Society for the History of Astronomy this afternoon/evening. societyforthehistoryofastronomy.com. Available on Amazon: amazon.com/Astronomers-Li…

📍Philadelphia, PA This is the line to get into the first Harris-Walz campaign event. There are thousands of people, the line wraps for blocks and blocks.

What is Galaxy Zoo? Give me your worst answers (working on a talk where I'd like to debunk some myths).

I’m excited for #Harris2024. Much respect for Biden for making this tough decision and changing the annoying pundit conversation. Really hoping the DNC get its act together quickly now behind #Harris2024.

Also book related - updated my "Writing" page on my website to include some of the awesome reviews (klmasters.sites.haverford.edu/writing/). Publisher tells me reviews on Amazon help a lot. If you got the book and could review it that would be awesome: amazon.com/Astronomers-Li…

Fun surprise for me yesterday - publishers sent me copies of Astronomer's Library now available in German! (Link to English version: amazon.com/Astronomers-Li…)

Other places are really taking off. I just stop by here periodically to unfollow people. Come join us somewhere else. :)

Heading to work on a Saturday evening for open observatory, including a talk about my new book, Astronomers Library. quarto.com/books/97807112…

It’s exciting that we’re heading into publication week for “Astronomers Library”. quarto.com/books/97807112…

My favourite eclipse related book in "The Astronomers Library", “De Eclipse Solari” from 1662 contains a satirical poem about a 1654 eclipse + charming illustrations of the eclipse from vairous spots. This one may also include a cartoon version of Galileo quarto.com/books/97807112…

Astronomers Library also has a section on “Lunar and Solar Eclipses” with publications from medieval times, but I also included Fred Espenek’s Road Atlas to the Solar Eclipse happening today. quarto.com/books/97807112…

Astronomers Library mentions several historical eclipses. Here’s one in “The Moon Considered as a Planet, a World and a Satellite”, by James Nasmyth and James Carpenter and which was published in 1874. quarto.com/books/97807112…

Trying not to obsess over Astronomer's Library pre-release reviews, but also delighted it got another 5-star review (instagram.com/p/C48ZJUHIztV/…), especially as this one noticed how hard I tried to not be too Eurocentric and to make connections for astrology interested folks. 🔭👩‍🔬

Excited to hear my author copies of Astronomers Library should be arriving soon. Publishes in just over a month. :) quarto.com/books/97807112…
