I find it hard to believe we're debating whether ebooks count as real books at a moment when literacy has fallen off a cliff. I don’t care how you read, whether print books, ebooks or audiobooks. Read widely. Read daily. Read for any reason or none at all. Just read.

ebooks don't count as actual books, sorry.

No, they’re me emoticons. I’m working, surrounded by all the people I love best and looking forward to a holiday. If they’d been Strike #9 emoticons they’d have been 🦋💍⚰️

One of the many things wrong with the Sandie Peggie judgment. This "quote" from my judgment doesn't come from my judgment. It is completely made up. 🤯

I could not agree with this more. #LoveBooks #LoveReading

Happy December everyone. If you’re buying Christmas presents for young people this year, consider buying them a book. Recent UK studies suggest that 1 in 12 young people aged 5-18 don’t have a book of their own (1 in 8 for disadvantaged children). Let’s encourage reading 📚

I mean, I love that these guys are making it obvious who should be avoided in anyone's search for a future partner. "Just look at the patriarchal BS on that dude." - No woman ever.

Women: ... Men who pretend to be women:

I’ve been living as a woman for years

I'm always keen to amplify the voices of men masquerading as woken. Particularly when they're as charming as this fellow.

Oh, absolutely. The second most painful part was a ventouse birth with third-degree perineal tear. #Womanhood #ReclaimWoman

The most painful part of womanhood is definitely taking off your makeup off at night. I cry literally every time

🎉 Happy World Menopause Day! To all women navigating night sweats, hormonal havoc, the occasional urge to throw your laptop out of the window and the cultural invisibility cloak, you are SEEN. Menopause isn’t a malfunction. It’s a biological reality, a rite of passage, and proof…

No one wants you dead. We want you to stop participating in the performative delusion that biological males can be women.

yeah this quote is killing me because like. rowling and everyone on her side don’t want us to live at all lmao

Irony, thy name is Bash Back. 'Be kind' they said. 'Your words are violence' they said. Committing actual violence against a group of women gathering to discuss, amongst other things, VAWG is quite something. I suppose, 'be kind' doesn't apply to them, no?

Take note of the response, @sianberry. Wes gets it.

This kind of violent direct action is disgraceful. It is designed to intimidate people - in this case women - into silence and it must not be allowed to happen with impunity. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

And what is this divisive event of which Ms Berry speaks? A conference about women's rights, you say? And women are provoking men by being there, are they? Hmm ... So, to be clear: women can't gather because it might make the men angry. Got it. filia.org.uk/about-filia

Events that inflame division and create tension should be guarded against and @BrightonHoveCC needs better policies for which events it will host in our council-owned venues. The choice of Brighton was clearly provocative from organisers and the problems caused predictable.

Re English degrees - as a student Katherine Rundell read Donne's most difficult poem. It gave her an idea for a children's book. Yesterday Disney announced a monster deal for that book. So that English degree will soon create and sustain thousands of highly skilled UK jobs.
