Interested in learning how to communicate your science to different audiences, and happen to be in Oklahoma? Come on out to our colloquium this Saturday with a keynote address from Josh Fischman of Scientific American! #scientifcamerica#sciencecommuncation
Fellow microbiologists - please consider submitting a session proposal for the next ASM Microbe meeting in Houston! I am helping to organize this year and excited to help shape the content. DEADLINE AUG. 3.
Congrats to Suman for winning a presentation award at ASM regional #asmregional#missourivalleybranch
@labmorgenstein et al describe a new mechanism of antibiotic tolerance in rod-shaped bacteria that is dependent on cell density, proposing simeltaneous disruption of the elongasome and divisome in response. nature.com/articles/s4200…
Some good news. My master students Addy Grinnell's paper is available to read. Check it out, she discovered a new antibiotic tolerance mechanism that is based on cell density: nature.com/articles/s4200…
Might need to design a new course post-tenure (crossing fingers). What microbiology courses or topics would you want to learn about?
Im bad at twitter so no pictures, but congrats to Addy Grinnell for completing her masters thesis today!! #firststudent#masters
Today I start as an Assistant Professor as the @brattonlab opens in @VUMCPathology. My group will be at the intersection of computational biology, biophysics, and microbiology as we understand, manipulate, and leverage 3D organization in bacteria. Lab website coming soon!
Congratulations on your graduation, Rose and Ryan! It’s been a pleasure having you in lab. Thanks for your great work and best wishes for your next adventures! #osumicro #okstate21
Congrats to Brody and Addy on our paper just published in @FrontMicrobiol! frontiersin.org/article/10.338…
Check out a preview of our newest results...driven by an undergraduate in the lab biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
We are excited to host Dr. Arash Komeili (also known as "the magnetosome guy") for our seminar series next week. Did you know that bacteria can accumulate metal and align to magnetic fields? Come learn more with us on Monday!
