I've talked to @WIRED about the #Adobe #Pantone dispute. (Thanks to @stokel for talking with me about this) TLDR: If you are using Pantone for it's intended way, to physically proof colors, you're getting dragged into a business deal between those two. wired.com/story/adobe-pa…
Bummed that @jetbrains support decided to randomly not extend our open-source license in the most crucial time where we're testing our release candidate with developers and users of our project despite them having done so before and the FAQ stating it would extend if used :/

It's vendor locking devs as much as React has.
Tailwind is the worst thing that happened to CSS.
I still haven't fully healed from @directus betraying the PHP community they built by announcing, then indefinitely delaying and ultimately scrubbing the existance of the PHP project... As one of the devs going "all-in" with customer projects, it really REALLY sucked...
I have a bunch of frames from an icon set, I want to create one component where each of the frames is one variant. Is there no way to just select all frames and convert them? This feels like a brute force way right now. #Figma #ui #ux
It's interesting seeing this new interest in #Laravel. I've been using (and loving) it for a few years now, setup is super fast to get something up and running quickly, and it holds up with customer portals for 500k+ daily users. Modern #PHP is also a lot better than people think
I really don't like the content @t3dotgg makes, but I am still subscribed, because I just open his videos and click on the source article, as the content he covers is still interesting.
JSX was a mistake
So, @Adobe is killing off #AdobeXd, because they couldn't buy #Figma, making Figma the only fully featured UI design application now (with Penpot coming up soonish as an open source alternative) bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
This "story" / urban myth has popped up for about 10 years now, it was told when I was in design school, it was told before I was in design school. In the real world however, even the generation alpha understand it's "an outdated media where you save stuff on".
A very young aspiring UX designer asked me: "why all save icons look like someone took a tiny bite off the corner of an individually wrapped cracker?" Another said: "No, it's a garage door! Because we store stuff inside it" I just said: "Yes" 🫶💾
Elon yet again displays very clearly that branding DOES matter, even if you're a well-known company. Yikes
Insane things about the web I am somehow only learning today.

I've used to think Frontend is easier than Backend, especially with my years long knowledge. Then I had to build two synched nested tree view where you can drag and drop from a content tree view to a second one, recursively add parents and group them in the same structure.
I'm sorry, but if you're using #Tailwind #TailwindCSS with the @apply syntax, you're just writing plain CSS with an added 2mb (uncompressed) / 200kb (minified) dependency.
i love this video because cats give licks to show dominance and bunnies receive licks to show dominance. they both think they’re in charge here.
