Meet Simon Thompson, the CEO of Royal Mail. He earns £62,750 a month. Because its a struggle getting by on just £1,500 a day after tax, he also got a £140,000 bonus this year. Simon has cut posties pay in real terms.

In a campaign in which I am saddened to say, fair play and integrity have not always been apparent, I find myself needing to put out this information to clarify a few things for West Derby members. I would much prefer to be concentrating on hold the Tories to account:

If you clapped for nurses in the pandemic, you better support them when they go on strike now. They're fighting for fair pay and for an NHS that's properly invested in. That was my message at the #EnoughIsEnough rally in Newcastle last night 👊🏽

What can we conclude about an AI programmed to flag words like "Tory", "hypocrite", and "liar" as toxic, but not "Paki", "wog", or "Go back"? That either the researchers wanted to put their thumb on the scales and make the left look bad, or that they're unforgivably stupid.

Red Baz reposted

The BBC put together a report about "toxic" tweets aimed at MPs, using an AI to analyse 3 million tweets. It claimed ethnicity didn't play a role in MPs being more likely to receive abusive tweets, but didn't even programme the AI to flag racist abuse. And the report's still up!

Nurses have voted to go on strike for the first time in their history, demanding better pay and a fair deal. I clapped for them during the pandemic and I support them now. Solidarity to the nurses! 💙

NEW: Jeremy Corbyn calls on Wes Streeting to apologise to those affected by his comments. "There’s nothing “in-jest” about calling somebody senile. "It’s very serious for people suffering from dementia. He should know this as Shadow Health Secretary." joe.co.uk/news/labour-fr…

Red Baz reposted

Dementia is the leading cause of death in the UK. By 2025, over 1 million people will be suffering from the disease. The impact on loved ones is unquantifiable. Now, more than ever, we need a National Care Service — publicly funded and free for all those who need it.

Red Baz reposted

This is gross, @wesstreeting

Jeremy Corbyn tries to raise a point of order in the House, after Rishi Sunak mentioned him again during #PMQs. Shadow Health Secretary Wes Streeting can be heard saying "he's gone senile".

Hi Luke, that’s not the case. When asked if we all agreed, I said no and shook my head, as did others. I raised, twice, objections to this decision. Appreciate you were in the room, rather than online so may not have been aware, but wanted to correct this before posting my report

There is no such thing as an illegal asylum seeker — and this dehumanising rhetoric is putting lives at risk. Today, I asked the government to comply with international law, and hold out the hand of friendship to those seeking a place of safety.

Ed Miliband is asked: "Do you back the nurses in this strike action". Ed refuses to say yes. It's disgraceful that Labour won't support workers taking industrial action after their pay has been cut by 20% in real terms since 2010 & who are facing another huge real terms cut now

The reason @jeremycorbyn lives rent free in the heads of the establishment is because he came so close to victory in 2017 and would've redistributed power to the many, and taken it away from the wealthy few. We stand with you Jeremy!

During PMQs yesterday, @RishiSunak gave a wholly inaccurate representation of me and my views. I have asked him to correct the record — and stop these tedious smears. If the PM wants to solve the cost-of-living crisis, may I suggest he starts here: labour.org.uk/wp-content/upl…

BBC News are not even trying to hide their fascist views on asylum seekers any more.

When @BBCNews use phrases like 'defending [the UK] on the frontline against migrants', they're making a party-political choice.
