This whole confusing episode has been a powerful illustration of why AI needs to be subject to vigorous and informed democratic control and not left to the vagaries of corporate governance.

I deeply regret my participation in the board's actions. I never intended to harm OpenAI. I love everything we've built together and I will do everything I can to reunite the company.

Eric was my thesis advisor in undergrad, and he is one of the kindest people I have ever met. An absolutely incredible mentor, teacher, and person. This is so richly deserved. And it's such a huge huge win for @HarvardEthics!! Congratulations!!
