*Memory* is incredibly interesting. I've been studying it for a few years and hardly scratched the surface! Here are 3 key things I've learned and what I think they might mean for teachers... 🧵

I’ve spent the past 18 months doing focused anti-racism work and I’m telling you now: racism in this country is pervasive, entrenched and takes no days off. It’s a daily tragedy, urgent. Think about HOW this could possibly happen. We must act. standard.co.uk/news/uk/depart…

As our thesis draft deadline is pretty much Easter, for the next forty days and nights I'll be giving up any semblance of a social life 👋 #dayinthelifeofatep

Being back together with my uni cohort last week (after too long apart!), and our input about supporting & advocating for children in the justice and social systems, further cemented the importance/human need for belonging and connectedness 💛

Still digesting the conversation between Bernard Coard & @poetrylawyer. In a system thats "at the expense of the majority", priorities within are to develop learners self-worth/identity, continually check ourselves & "wonderful, expansive" expectations of all #transformnotconform

Join author Bernard Coard as he discusses the changes since his 1971 publication 'How the West Indian Child is made educationally sub-normal in the British School System' and what can be done to develop an effective model of education. Attend here leighdaylaw.info/2ZxgvMC

For many valuable people the vaccine isn't effective/as effective and the threat is still very real. Ill be continuing to wear a mask in public crowded spaces and distancing so we can all move forward together 💛 #Covid19UK #StaySafe

Proud to stand with 40 other cancer charities who have written to @ObserverUK asking the UK public to consider what they can do to help protect people affected by #cancer. > lymphoma-action.org.uk/appeal-public

I’m currently looking for staff working in EYFS (nursery schools and school nursery/reception) and parents of children in EYFS to fill out a short online survey if possible please 🙏🏼🙏🏼 nottinghampsych.eu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_cZ…

Thankyou to @beeplondon and the speakers- could have listened all night! It was so powerful to hear young people's and a parent's experiences of education and EPs in the UK first hand. It is our job to be conscious and help others to find young people's light 💡-Bernard Coard.

Very excited for our sold out event later with Bernard Coard, @NExclusions @NABSS3. We will also be joined by a parent of a Black Caribbean child who was excluded from school, and a young person. It's time for Educational Psychologists to listen, learn and do better 🖤

Such a valuable opportunity to listen to how other EPSs are developing anti-racism in our practice. Huge food for thought 💭 lots to take back to my work supporting EPS developments. Feeling grateful for the sharing of such brilliant practice, & the generosity of our profession

....Valerie Jackson & Sarah Parkinson @NewhamEPS sharing their journey embedding anti racist practice in their EPS- challenging yet so inspiring!!
