Imax is a huge scam, adds nothing. If a movie is good you should be able to watch and enjoy it as a series of weirdly edited youtube shorts with stock music added over every scene. If you need to watch a movie on "the big screen" to "enjoy" it, it's not a good movie

Hadn't heard of the composer before but very impressed by this piece. Extremely violent work for orchestra and electronics. youtu.be/J8Rs1U185dU?si…

Relistening to this incredible piece at the shop today, one of my all time favourites. I always forget how much of the stuff I write is subconsciously trying to emulate his sound world. youtu.be/a9hCvjy3ozI?si…

Double unskippable ad in the middle of a piece of music. YouTube is like the best place to find music and the worst place to listen

Cold and acoustic sound wold, morphing textural forms, glimpses of nearly romantic gestures. Very very good piece, immediately coherent. youtu.be/FhTgaQzKBRM?si…

Randomly got recommended this rare later luo Zhongrong piece, incredibly interesting to hear him work in a full on Germanic form without his typical eastern instrumentation. The chinese sound comes in the lines, but vertically austro German expressionist. youtu.be/_unoj6cy-MY?si…

Been getting really into the Glenn Gould recordings of Hindemiths piano sonatas. It's quite rude to say but a lot of his stuff previously made quite a silly and unserious impression on me, even the tuba sonata is starting to make sense.

Realised this has come with a cd of the recording! Will try to maybe upload a score follower style video and upload them to soulseek, don't think anyone has put them up anywhere yet that's accessable to English speakers/western audiences.

Finally arrived, very exciting stuff. Haven't actually heard these pieces, as recordings of his, in particular the later works are hard to find. These feature his development of a twelve tone technique based on the use of contrasting Chinese pentatonic modes, eager to dig in 🙏
