@MQMLab
I teach Physics at Illinois Wesleyan, a nice, small liberal arts college. My (serious) research is routinely rephrased in terms of (playful) sci-fi references.
In May: "American Institute of Physics Recognizes Illinois Wesleyan." Oct: "Physics Professors Recognized for Efforts to Increase Understanding, Appreciation of Field," celebrating work with AAPT. Now APS: "Physics Department Awarded for Improving Undergraduate Physics Education"
Start planning your trip for #AAPTWM26 by reserving your room at the Horseshoe Las Vegas hotel. Mention the AAPT room block and reserve your space by December 12th. ow.ly/JGhA50X1Ke9 #AAPTConferences #AAPTMeeting

It's Fall Break Day today: about half my students are at a U.S. Department of Energy national lab; another set is touring a local manufacturer that makes robotics for Mitsubishi, etc. @IL_Wesleyan provides our students with wonderful communities of engagement.
Into the breach once more! Our message includes that (a) Science has been and must be good for our nation, and that (b) we ought to be working to broaden participation in science. #AAPT #AIP
If you have the capacity to do so, support us by becoming (or continuing as) a dues-paying member of AAPT and/or coming to our next national meeting, to enhance (and learn from) this community, as we piece together our next steps. #ITeachPhysics
You can't have science without support of the educational pathways that yield scientists (and science teachers). If you have the capacity to do so, support us by becoming a dues-paying member of AAPT. #ITeachPhysics

The highly visible issues that undoubtedly played a role in the CEO of this platform moving on, might prompt a critical mass of #ITeachPhysics to migrate....
Actually, I could add a few more "Bragging Points" for Illinois Wesleyan -- but theirs will do for a start iwu.edu/admissions/why…
