mike was of the mvps this volume, period. comforted holly, figured out mr. whatsit, came up with two plans, tried to protect the children, gave el a pep talk, encouraged will, coaxed erica, led the party, fought a demodog successfully, cosplayed as a patient... boy was BUSY.
Mind you the whole reason the show made Mike unable to say ILY to El was so he could say it during her fight with Vecna . Its why the show parallels small El defeating Henry with her mom's I Love You, later switching the role to Mike. Yall misogynistic asf but also dumb as hell

Ngl El's plot in this first four episodes gave average. Millie is trying her best but you cannot save a Russia 2.0 plot with just good acting and actor chemistry. Hoping she returns from the upside down quickly next volume so her plot evolves better #strangerthings
After watching episodes 3 & 4 my biggest complaint is that MIKE WHEELER deserves better. I don't know what happened in the writer's room but him not even reacting to his parents being on the brink of death and just being 🗿is not it. Volume 2 better bring his emotions back

so for those who have trouble understanding what finn is saying here it is simplified: if he were to openly say he ships a certain ship and that ship ended up becoming canon he feels like it wouldn't be as exciting for the audience who support that ship when it ends up happening
