Ten years ago, many of us started warning about the rise of the alt-right, and we were told to shut up and focus on the left. Well now anti-Semitism, racism, and conspiracies are exploding all over the right (especially with young Republicans), with some of the biggest voices…

It’s tempting to take delight in this kind of exposure of evil, but lament and repentance is the right response. We have the “leaders” we deserve as a nation yt3.ggpht.com/iO9JDwllNnH9Ep…

Saw this today. It’s much much worse than this when you consider the tax breaks given to Elon’s Tesla and the other tech Bros who have signed up to stand behind Trump in order to steal from the American people to enrich themselves and then donate money to the ballroom

Does a Fox correspondent not know that we can stop boats at sea, search them, seize any drugs we find, arrest the crew, try them, and imprison them -- while also questioning them to help investigate the cartels? The choices aren't between execution and permission.

Why would anyone be against using US forces to stop drugs from coming into this country? Because international stipulates that we need to poison our kids?

This is a good thread. As John says, the Christian is obliged to regard even purely-private rage and fantasy as sinful. But the internet-era externalization of the inner monologue creates a new kind of occasion of sin for everyone who listens to it. x.com/jpodhoretz/sta…

Here's the danger of social media. It allows people to publish their internal monologues. Our internal monologues and fantasies are often incredibly ugly. People go to therapists because they feel so guilty about them, and one of the tasks of a therapist is to explain that 1/

Man comes to the US from Lebanon. Starts out delivering pizzas, becomes a Nobel winning neuroscientist. Trump freezes his funding, he gets an email from China offering to move his lab “any city, any university I want" with guaranteed funding for 20 years. What are we doing?

One of MAGA's worst cons is redefining strength as weakness and weakness as strength. Capitulate to Trump and cater to his every whim? You're strong! You know what time it is! Hold fast to your principles? You're weak. You're soft. That's the critique of judges in a nutshell.

Generosity is an anti-depressant. Depressed people were randomly assigned to give less than a penny a day to charity. Over the next 2 months, moods improved and depression declined. The more they gave, the better they felt. Even small acts of kindness elevate mental health.
