Science is not a contest to be won. It’s a collective pursuit of truth that evolves with evidence - not a debate settled by opinion or the loudest voice.

Unlike the days of Plato and Aristotle, lectures today should be places for discourse, civil debate, engagement with divergent thought, and attempt of unusual and difficult mathematics problems for which solutions may not emerge by the end of the lecture.

Results of the Trends in Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) 2023 will be published on Dec 4th, 2024. The raw data for each educational jurisdiction will be publicly available in Feb 2025 for researchers to use in secondary analysis to inform policy - e.g. in Canada (Ontario).
