Thirty-six years ago today on this date: Mike Mooneyham started writing his weekly wrestling column for @postandcourier in Charleston, South Carolina.

When Dad was an ACC official Mike Patrick called SO many of his games on Jefferson Pilot, then ESPN. I'd be on the sideline wondering if Mike was calling the game. If you saw a hand hanging out the TV booth window holding a cigarette, the answer was yes! Godspeed legend.

So sorry to learn of the passing of the great Mike Patrick. Mike was the voice of ACC Basketball when I was a player, and I had the honor of working with him and calling him a friend. Mike Patrick was a pro’s pro. RIP Mike Patrick.


Mike Patrick was more than just a broadcast partner, he was one of my dearest friends. A true gentleman and professional. Working with Mike was fun and easy because he made it that way. Michael you will be missed.
