Standardized tests have no place in elementary education. Because testing becomes the focus of education instead of learning. We take away the fun and excitement of learning, playing, exploring, & creating. We create test takers instead of problem solvers and innovators.
@CloughPikeElem 5th graders were fortunate to have our Dean of Students, @BarbaraKenney5, teach them how to make digital infographics. So many tech tools were shared. Ss had choice of article and then began sharing their learning. @Morrison5th @WestCler #WCConnects

I called Gov. DeWines office today and left a message. It was on this same topic. We need to make schools safer if we aren’t going to do anything about gun control. Because clearly our country is okay with school shootings.
We must do more to strengthen our schools’ physical security, and we must ensure that school personnel have the proper training and support to keep themselves and their students safe. bit.ly/3a4Iit2
Each persons experience is different. We have to respect others and not diminish how they feel. I am not being dramatic. I am being truthful, honest, real, and raw. I’ve felt loved and supported but also dismissed and excused. My heart is broken that this is our reality. 😢
There are so many things I want and NEED to say but to sum it up - today was an extremely difficult day and we HAVE to do better. For students. For educators. For our communities. I’ve had enough and it’s time we all stand up for what is right.
