During science week Year 3 have loved investigating the topics growth and light. We began the week by researching two scientists: Agnes Arber and Thomas Edison. We have completed many fun experiments, from rainbow roses, lava lamps to creating our own shadow puppets. #ScienceWeek

In celebration of Science Week, Class 6 have been exploring the concept of ‘growth’. We have investigated the growth of mould on bread based on particular environmental factors, the growth of crystals using a number of agents and have had a go at growing our own rainbows! 🔭🥼🌈

During Science week, Year 5 researched Sir Isaac Newton and compiled a fact file. We also carried out gravity investigations and an experiment to see if the environment would affect how crystals grow. As well as all of this, the children took part in a Mars Day Special via Zoom.

Class 6 got a shock when they walked into the classroom to find their chairs neatly stacked at the back with a letter, expressing how fed up they were! The children then wrote persuasive letters to the chairs, explaining why they should return to the classroom! 📝✏️🪑

Last week, year 5 visited St Mary Magdelene Church, where we met Father James. He told us about the last weeks of Jesus' life and we were reenacted some of the story, which was lots of fun. The children gained so much information and used this in their work the following day.

This afternoon, Class 6 and Reception came together to share stories. The year 6 children enjoyed the responsibility of reading and asking questions like a teacher would, and the reception children were excited to hear some stories from their buddies.
