Scouring The NFL

I don't think it's an overreaction to say this has been the most wildly eventful NFL season in decades. Maybe ever. Different playoff teams, long tenured head coaches actually getting let go. The NFL has felt very "nothing ever happens" for a couple years. Not anymore

The Pittsburgh Steelers haven't won a playoff game since the 2016 season Only 6 franchises have longer active droughts Also... the Dolphins, Raiders, and Jets 😬

JALEN HURTS: 2016… New OC. 2017… New OC. 2018… New OC. 2019… New OC. 2020… New OC. 2021… New OC. 2023… New OC. 2024… New OC. 2025… New OC. 2026… New OC. This is absolutely ridiculous.

Depends on who wins tonight - CBS will get best AFC game - either Steelers-Patriots on Sunday or Bills-Broncos on Saturday if Houston wins.

Last chance for guesses: SAT 4:30: 49ers-Seahawks (NBC) SAT 8:00: Bills-Broncos (ESPN) SUN 3:00: TBD-Patriots (CBS) SUN 6:30: Rams-Bears (FOX)

Dating back to last Sunday night, we’ve had 8 do or die football games… and 7 of them have been absolute classics that came down to the final play/minute. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced anything quite like this.

Jauan Jennings had more completed passes over 15 air yards (1) in that game than Jalen Hurts did (0-5)

Josh Allen's updated career playoff ranks (min. 8 GP): 309.5 total YPG (#1 all-time) 2.5 total TDS/game (#3 all-time) 35-6 total TD-TOV ratio (#1 all-time) Thank God half of NFL media spent all week talking about how disappointing he'd be in a hypothetical loss, tho.

Amazing statistic

Offensive plays run with the lead in 3 Bears-Packers games this season: Packers 106 Bears 0 (Bears won 2 of the 3 games)

The Texans have won 9 straight. The Jaguars have won 8 straight. Of the last 13 teams to enter the playoffs on a winning streak of 8+ games, they won 0 Super Bowls.

For the first time since seeding began in 1975, no quarterback for the top two seeds in each conference has ever won a playoff game in their career 👀

The drought lives. Texans 38, Colts 30. Former #NotreDame QBs have lost 25 consecutive #NFL starts over the past 14 seasons (13 years, 33 days and counting since Brady Quinn's win for Kansas City). Incredible. #NDFootball

This season marks the 9th time in franchise history that the Texans will play in the Wild Card Round... And the first time they will not play in the 4:30 PM ET game on Saturday. They had previously gone 8-for-8 in that time slot.

The Saints finished the season ranked 9th in total defense (299.8 yards a game) and 17th in scoring defense (22.5 ppg). They were 30th (379.9) and 19th (23.4) in those categories a year ago. Helluva job, Brandon Staley.

Matthew Stafford: 2nd QB in past 50 seasons to lead NFL in passing yards, passing TD & TD-INT ratio. The other? 2007 Tom Brady. Truly special season from Rams QB. 46 TDs, 4707 passing yards against incredibly tough schedule. Totally dominant. Best QB in NFL in 2025.

The Jets have made three selections at No. 2 overall in the common-draft era. They didn't work out too well: 2021: QB Zach Wilson 1990: RB Blair Thomas 1980: WR Lam Jones (trade up) #Jets
