The Adductor Magnus muscle is key to redirecting angular momentum during all the phases of sprinting. It also is a stabilizer during stance and can be seen with frontal foot path. Work on all phases of force development seriously as most programs treat this as an accessory.

Older and younger subjects similarly display more rapid strength gains than size gains. While hypertrophy is a contributor to strength gains, it cannot explain the majority of the increases in strength that occur, which are the result of other mechanisms.
