How I learned to read. How I taught reading. If you’re mocking this, you don’t understand reading at a base level. I’m a Xennial, & we used to keep our own dictionaries on the corner of our desks, in order to look things up as we were reading in class. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Kai Cenat kept having to look up what certain words meant during his reading journey to become a better speaker 😭

I am openly critical of Long COVID researchers that do not mask publicly; that sign on to "back to normal / learn to live with COVID" messaging because in my mind, this is far more harmful to people living with Long COVID than any benefit their research has given us. To be blunt

Remember that part in #Andor when all those reporters on Ghorman made it sound like the Ghormans were violent and the Empire HAD to send in soldiers to stop things from getting out of hand but in reality the soldiers WANTED things to get out of hand? Yea, that was crazy huh?

Nazi salutes, anti-DEI, transphobia, ICE deportations - these are rooted in eugenics. Again institutionalization and murder at play. RFK's statement that race impacts vaccine schedules is scientific racism. His efforts to take away safe medications like SSRIs is eugenics. 11/13

I wish we could disavow the actions of our leaders more forcefully than on social media. Canada should do everything to save itself, and so, the US falls further down in the eyes of the rest of the world.

There is no appeasement. He means it as annexation. The world needs to stand together against this. Now.

It me. I’m a girl.

A girl loved her health, But a virus came & stole it away. So, she let go of that love. A girl loved her friends, But they refused to protect her. So, she let go of that love. A girl loved the birds, But the birds began to die. So, she let go of that love. A girl loved…

Gee, if only there had been some knowledgeable group of people, who knew about the longterm consequences of viruses, LITERALLY SCREAMING THIS SINCE DAY ONE. Nobody listens to disabled people, and they /definitely/ don’t listen to us about the areas of our expertise.

Love for the analogy; hate that it has to be made. “Oh, you’re being a jackass. It must be an even-numbered day.”

I was a dancer before chronic illness, & I still follow a lot of dance news. It’s upsetting that the loss of #MichaelaDePrince isn’t getting more coverage, but also that she isn’t more widely known in general. An absolute inspiration & a huge loss.

🙏🏿Take the time to watch this in honor of #MichaelaDePrince. Though she grew up in the ashes of unimaginable horror, pain, & tragedy, like dust she rose. Fo her life to end so abruptly at the age of 29 is heart wrenching. How can life be so cruel!😔💔💔😞

Most policy problems would be fixed if disabled people were prioritized.

Wow I know some local health officials and public leaders who need to read this...I've never seen such an effort to ignore/block/twist data in my 30+ year career. I just keep pressing. Science facts/numbers (calibrated!) for the win. We won't back down.

Horrific scenes from Rafah tonight. Palestinian medics say at least 35 people were killed after an Israeli airstrike hit tents housing displaced people. Our Government must not stand by while Israel ignores the World Court. It must act. Starting by ending arms sales to Israel.

If Rafah was this president’s red line, that red line has been crossed. @POTUS, keep your word and stop sending Israel weapons. Now. It should not have taken this long, but the best time to do the right thing is now.

If I can watch it happening, live on TikTok, there’s NO EXCUSE for the “most powerful man in the world” to be this uninformed. Therefore, he must be lying.Problem is, they didn’t count on us talking to each other this much. Caring about each other this much. Fighting back, at all.

Just when I think things can’t get bleaker for disabled individuals - something happens to lower the bar further. Today it’s the people celebrating the possibility of banning medical masks. Saying we “deserve it” for making them wear masks at the beginning of COVID. 🧵 /1

Same goes for Long Covid. Whether or not YOU think it’s a thing, life insurance companies do, and they’re using it against us already.

I’ve said it before on here, and I’m gonna say it again: it doesn’t matter whether you believe in climate change, only that the insurance industry does

It’s an awful thing to be right about. At the same time the US needs to learn the lesson now, rather than in retrospect. The rise in euthanasia rhetoric in medical & political circles here cannot be allowed to continue into policy discussions.

It’s so awful that they were right. They really were right.
