“Long COVID is associated with dysregulation of both innate and adaptive immunity.” “Despite being well described in the literature, PAIS remain understudied relative to their high disease burden. Patients often face stigma and psychologization from medical professionals when…

#MECFS

This is true not only in science, but in advocacy as well. ME/CFS doesn’t suffer from a relative lack of ideas, it suffers from an absolute lack of people working on them. Far too few people are pushing ideas forward, whether paid or unpaid. The most effective advocacy is finding…

Thank you for this review @VirusesImmunity and @jannamoen! What are we going to do about the millions of people who are not recovering nor dying after an acute infection event? Will we continue to pretend they don't exist? #LongCovid #MECFS #LymeDisease #PANS etc, etc 🙄

Yale scientists reviewed 100 years of records and found that Long COVID is part of a larger pattern. Viruses like polio, SARS, and EBV have long caused lasting illness in some people, often through immune dysfunction cell.com/trends/immunol…

The closer we look, the more harmful long -term infections with pathogenic viruses turn out to be. This, together with the proven connection between EBV and MS, should prompt a Project Warp Speed for an EBV vaccine.

A groundbreaking paper by @younis_sh1 et al. @stanfordimmuno provides an answer to the long-standing question about how EBV infections are linked to lupus. A short thread to explain the key findings. (1/) science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…
