Burpham. Not one. Not two. Not three, but four supercars, all stopped in convoy, since they had driven through some type of gravity well on the A3 and their front number plates had “just dropped off”. 🙄 Tickets issued for all four vehicles. #SCRPU ^MW

A great example of why vehicles are stopped for minor offences. Good work. 👍

#RPU stopped the Range Rover off the M4 to check the window tints as they looked dark. Further checks reveal both occupants are wanted by immigration for illegal entry to the UK, no driving licence or insurance. 2 #arrested and vehicle seized

Derby Vehicle on non-UK plates but been activating speed cameras. Driver produces his EU licence but we're not new to this game and find his UK record. Forgot to mention that he was disqualified from driving and had no insurance. #NiceTry #Seized #Reported #Gp2

Saab fitted two-point seat belts as an option as early as 1957 on the Saab 93. From 1958, they were fitted as standard on the GT750. Three-point harnesses, developed by Volvo, provided even greater safety. Swedes have been innovative on automotive safety over many years.

The very first 3 point seatbelt was sold in a Volvo PV544 on August 13th 1959. Given attitudes at the time drivers and passengers were sceptical of the benefits and slow to start using them. 📷 @volvocars

It’ll be interesting to watch the progress of this since the Pavement Parking (Protection of Vulnerable Pedestrians) Private Members Bill of 2015-16 was withdrawn.

M1 Motorway More great teamwork alongside @DerbyshireARU resulted in us detaining this vehicle right down at junction 19 yesterday. Occupant had gone to a house in Duffield and stolen a set of alloy wheels. Wheels recovered and offender arrested. #Teamwork #Gp2

Driving past my ROAD CLOSED sign is less than appreciated. You put me and my colleagues at risk. The road may look clear but you can’t see all the oil that puts you and others at risk, particularly those on two wheels. Quick response from Highways helped us reopen the road. 👍

Seatbelts save lives*. Two vehicle, three person RTC. 30mph Road. One of the vehicles flipped over and came to rest on its roof! Minor injuries only. Excellent response from Trumpton, Ambulance and local residents. * (Since 1959)

E-scooters are classed as a 🏍️ as defined in Section 185 (Road Traffic Act 1988) and, because of their low speed, within the subclass of moped. This means that e-scooters must abide by the same road traffic legislation as mopeds & motorcycles eg MOT, licensing, tax & insurance.

Educational courses, for use of mobile phone whilst driving, have not been an option since that law changed on 1st March 2017 when the points and find doubled from 3 to 6 points and £100 to £200.

AI-powered cameras that can automatically detect offences. Scrap educational course alternative for phone offences. Issue FPNs or prosecute. Penalty could be increased further but it's key that enforcement is stepped up significantly using technology.

It was not a 99 for RPU officers this afternoon. Instead, it was a 165 (seizure). The driver of this ice cream van did not have any insurance and was an unsupervised provisional licence holder. Vehicle seized and driver reported. #driveinsured
