Fones Road Corridor Project Update: Night work (M-Th, 8pm-5am) continues into December as we install a new watermain. When night crews are working near Pacific and Fones, police officers will direct traffic. Learn more at olympiawa.gov/fonesroad.
We are planning a transportation project on Capitol Way to slow down speeding drivers, add bike lanes and enhanced crosswalks, and resurface the street. Open house is on Dec. 4. Learn more at olympiawa.gov/capitolway

Fones Road Project Update: During October, the traffic signal at the intersection of Fones Rd. and Pacific Ave. will be in flash mode between 7PM and 5:30AM to accommodate night work. Use caution in work zones and follow all traffic control. Learn more at olympiawa.gov/fonesroad.
From September 29 through September 30, crews will begin nighttime potholing work near the intersection of Fones Road SE and Pacific Avenue SE as part of the Fones Road Corridor Project. Work hours will be 7 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
2025 Sidewalk Repair Project: We will repair sidewalks in two locations: downtown on State Ave. between Adams and Jefferson St. and on the westside on Kenyon St. between Harrison and 4th Ave. Work will begin on Thu., Sept. 25. Find maps and details at olympiawa.gov/sidewalkrepair….
Starting this fall, we will start construction of the 4th Ave. and Plum St. Pedestrian and Bike Improvements Project. This project will change the intersection to make it safer for pedestrians, bicyclists, and drivers. Learn more at olympiawa.gov/4thPlum.

The City of Olympia is hiring a full-time Traffic Signal Technician. Three years of journey-level experience installing, maintaining and calibrating electronic control devices comprised of solid-state electronic systems in the signal trade is preferred.
The Great Olympia Bike Rodeo is June 7 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.at Garfield Elementary School. Bring the kiddos and say hello to the Olympia Police Department staff. The bike rodeo is a chance to play, practice safety and celebrate the joy of bicycling!
