Donald Trump is not a king — and his administration is not above the law. Today, the court confirmed what we all know: there is no credible evidence of a rebellion in the state of Illinois. And no place for the National Guard in the streets of American cities like Chicago.

Just saw what appeared to be National Guard in the Chicago area. The Texas guardsmen now deployed on their official mission of protecting US Immigration and Customs Enforcement and other US Government personnel in the Chicago area, per US Northern Command. This is in Broadview.
I spoke to a restaurant owner in a predominantly Latino neighborhood of Chicago who told me the hit to his business right now is "like the pandemic coming all over again." There's a fear of going out, he says.
Now that the Texas National Guard is in Illinois, what will the scope of any deployment actually look like? If there is one.
