"A group of neutral individual athletes cannot, by definition, be considered a team." How the FIDE-team may - anyway - win its own FIDE World Women's Team Championship 2025 explained: en.chessbase.com/post/after-exc…
Dear @Pilar_Alegria, At the same day as Spain 🇪🇦 allows the Russian 🇷🇺 Chess Federation to participate as "neutral" athletes at the women's world championship in Linares 🇪🇦, they organize a chess event for soldier from the " special operation" against Ukraine🇺🇦 in Moscow 🇷🇺
Shuvalova just won the decisive game for the "neutral" Russian 🇷🇺 team at the World Championship in Spain 🇪🇸 Here she is celebrating Chess day in Moscow 🇷🇺 with Sanctioned Vice-speaker of the Russian Duma 🇷🇺Alexander Zhukov, and FIDE President Arkadi Dvorkovich 🇷🇺
Daniel Naroditsky was more than a grandmaster, he was our colleague, a teacher, mentor, and friend whose passion and generosity shaped the Charlotte chess community and beyond. The Charlotte Chess Center is proud to carry forward his legacy: givebutter.com/naroditsky

According to Russian 🇷🇺 state media, which seems FIDEs preferred chanel of communication, Ukraines 🇺🇦 protest will be rejected, and Russia allowed to play today in Spain 🇪🇦 at the Womens World Team Championship. matchtv.ru/chess/matchtvn…
The Russian 🇷🇺 chess Federation will file a complaint against Malcolm Pein @TelegraphChess to the FIDE Ethics Committee writes Russian state media Tass. Congratulations Malcolm! tass.ru/sport/25655519
Leya Garifullina 🇷🇺 Last month playing the Russian Championship and shaked hands with Natalia Komarova, sanctioned for aiding Russia🇷🇺 kidnapping Ukrainian🇺🇦 children. As Karjakin, sponsored by "Sima-land" Today playing as "neutral" athlete in the World Championship in Spain🇪🇦
Today is a sad day for chess. Russia 🇷🇺 has managed to break the international sanctions and will today play the Womens World Championship in Spain. 🇪🇦 While Ukraine 🇺🇦 is still being invaded by the exact same people that sits in the Chess Federation of Russia leadership.
As usual, one need to follow Russian 🇷🇺 state media, to follow FIDE news: tass.ru/sport/25649179
Official complaint by Team Ukraine regarding the participation of a Russian team in the FIDE Women World Chess Championship 2025 chessdom.com/ukraine-files-…
#chess #FIDE The delegation of #Ukraine🇺🇦 officially appeals the ridiculous participation of a "FIDE" team in Linares, consisting solely of Russian passport holders. It violates all IOC guidelines and the decisions of the FIDE General Assembly and the FIDE Council.
The Ukrainian 🇺🇦 chess Federation has files a protest during the technical meeting at the Womens World Team Championship, asking for the Russian 🇷🇺 team to be kicked out :
It seems FIDE is not only contradicting IOC rules but also contradicting itself. While preparing a model for the Women's Team Championship, I noticed a strange thing. Teams were not allocated to pools based on their average rating 👀 #FIDE
If this really is the case, it is absurd. Is @FIDE_chess arguing that emailing the IOC and getting no reply is = IOC approved ?

According to FIDE's own decision of 18 July, the participation of a Russian women's team in Spain is possible ONLY upon a letter of no-objection by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Has anyone seen such a letter by the IOC? @FIDE_chess @TelegraphChess @Chessdom…
The Candidates will have 3 players not in the top 20. That is too many IMO.
Dear @Pilar_Alegria, A few days ago you signed that IOC guidelines (which exclude team events for Russian passport holders) should be followed. Why do you allow Spain to be used as a white-washing vehicle for the Kremlin with the FIDE World Team #Chess Championship for women?…
Dear @Pilar_Alegria, This is the Russian 🇷🇺 Chess Federation social media post. They look forward to playing in Linares 🇪🇦 tomorrow and Russia will use this as an example in other sports, that Russian teams are being allowed back. Please act, the World of Chess will not.
