I’ve been hearing reports of police in #Colombia shooting for the chest or eyes during protests. Not random, directed. I find out today that this is also being observed in bodies of Palestinians after recent shootings Crimes against humanity are intentional. Not a coincidence.

I was 12 when my family doctor told me I needed birth control the depo-provera shot because “native women are very fertile and we don’t need more native teen moms” 🤢

To become “if these disabled people can be elected to public office without any handouts from the government, then why do you need socialized healthcare?” That’s the new fight. Representational politics isn’t paint by numbers. And thinking just any disabled people will do will

The rates of missing person cases in the American Indian and Alaska Native communities are disproportionate, alarming, and unacceptable. But I believe we are at an inflection point. We have a @POTUS @VP and an administration who see us. And we can’t turn back. #MMIP

As we open things up, I’d like councils and businesses to remember that disabled people want to get out and meet their friends and celebrate with a drink too. Please don’t turn entire areas of London’s hospitality into total no-go zones.

Got an email from HR telling me my request to WFH is not “reasonable.” My lab was fully remote for 5+ months in 2020. Most of our studies take place in other states. What’s not reasonable is expecting a disabled academic to suffer just so you don’t have to endure Zoom meetings.

Truths

What gets me about this convo about AOC’s race is this notion that if she not Black or Indigenous, then she must be white. White supremacy has literally created a hierarchy of races where BIPOC are kept at the bottom—but should we really bc classifying everyone else as white?

If I leave academia, it’s because I know my worth. It is an insult to my ancestors and those who will come after me if I allow academia to treat me less than I deserve to be treated. I love myself enough not to settle for the abuse some orgs bestow on Black women.

In honor of white women’s fatphobia, I’m eating Brazilian chicken croquettes and reminding you that thinness as a moral imperative is part of upholding white supremacy and is inherently anti-Black. BMI is also outdated AF as a health metric.

Saying that wearing a mask during a pandemic is "living in fear" is like saying that using oven mitts means you're "afraid" of the oven.

Hello, I wrote the first article and it is with a heavy heart that I say.... I still stand by everything I said—especially as I live through a pandemic in which disabled people have been left to die and people are actively gaslighting us about our ability to seek medical care.

Today, we will look at the origination of @marwilliamson smears. So far, I have found few articles. The first one is on July 30, 2019. For anyone who has read manufacturing consent, always ask why a news organization would print a certain piece on a certain date:
