We're now on the standby

In 2h we'll failover and make one of the standbys primary while the master is having surgery. If all goes well, downtime should be minutes

A few of the memories in the new db servers are acting up. ECC has caught and fixed the problems, keeping the server up.

Back online. Everything seems happy

A harddisk got full during the first dump.. Anyway, started restoring to the new cluster. Eta 60min, then some testing.

We will do a big database upgrade around 02:00EST Sunday morning. This will take some 3h.

Silent launch of russian

Pond5 is now internationalized to french.

ftp servers congested. Started new ftp servers (DNS updates should propagate in 1h) and hiring curators :)

The edit_item page got some polish.

New www yday. Only minor things borked: upload avatar (tmpdir missing), firewalls for ftp_status and change preview icons (tmpdir again).

ftp2 and ftp4 are testing stage 1/2 of the new ftp software rollout.

Safari: testing html5 vids on the search result pages. Flash made both p5 and apple.com crash on Safari.

Yay! I've missed that memcached can listen to comma separated ip addresses (and not Any ip or just one). Now we can warm up the new server!

We're fixing new ec2-instances that can make use of the new beefier Amazon instance types.

Starting tracing things on the ftp servers so we can figure out why some files sometimes refuse to process.

One of our email service partners has server troubles and an email sent (slowly) inside of a transaction (!!) made the db hung jittery.

Did a considerable optimization for all browsers, but IE was mostly suffering.

@theruchos The memcached struct expires after 12h. We'll probably change that to 24h and put it on the daily cron to dodge user load pain..

Carl added exif import of "camera model name", "copyright", "copyright notice", "rights", "date created", "create date", "date/time orig.."
