It's immensely satisfying when something that you have been thinking about for eight years gets finished - thanks to two outstanding @TCD_physics @QuSysTCD students Laetitia and Artur - the story of Information Geometry of NESS to NESS transitions is out: arxiv.org/abs/2501.08858
Very happy to be involved in this great work - a PRB editor’s suggestion by @tcddublin student Peter O Donavan

Physicists disagree wildly on what quantum mechanics says about reality, Nature survey shows nature.com/articles/d4158…
Our latest work is finally out - unifying many seemingly disparate instances of the notorious Mpemba effect in classical and quantum dynamics such as symmetry restoration and thermalisation using a resource theoretical approach: read here: arxiv.org/abs/2507.16976
Great to see the latest @QuSysTCD @tcddublin paper on Physical Review Letters today - where we show that quantum batteries with higher charge can discharge faster than less charged ones and other anomalous effects journals.aps.org/prl/abstract/1…

The latest work from @QuSysTCD @tcddublin. Great work by postdoc Sam Jacob who derived Kubo formulae without time dep classical driving but rather autonomously by another quantum particle. A generalised FDT appears outside of linear response read here arxiv.org/abs/2505.03686

Delighted to announce that we've signed a non-binding letter of intent with dMY Squared Technology Group to take @horizon_quantum public. We couldn't ask for better partners on the journey to the public markets than Harry You and @NiccoloDeMasi. horizonquantum.com/updates/news/h…
All You Ever Wanted to Know About Quantum Error Correction In a brief yet thorough summary that appeared last week on the pre-print server, a group of quantum computing experts discussed the challenges on the way to commercially relevant quantum computers. Among other things,…

Nice to have this one published - well done again to @QuSysTCD PhD student Laetitia Bettmann: Information geometry approach to quantum stochastic thermodynamics journals.aps.org/pre/abstract/1…
I really like this perspective paper that provides some (as neutral as possible) consensus on timely questions in the field of quantum computing, as well as debunking myths. We need more of this. Thanks for the initiative!
To reach some consensus about the prospects of near-term (nisq and early ft) quantum computing, we had a 3-day discussion event (“Quantum Now”) in Lapland with both optimists and pessimists. This continued at SeeQA 2024 in Oxford. See our conclusions here arxiv.org/abs/2501.05694
Useful perspective, clearly written and well-reasoned. arxiv.org/abs/2501.05694
We had fun arguing about the prospects of near-term quantum computing in Lapland/Oxford In arxiv.org/abs/2501.05694 we frame our (reasonably converged) conclusions around common 'myths' concerning error mitigation, VQAs and resource estimates. Feedback/discussion welcomed!

arxiv.org/abs/2501.05694 super perspective about myths around quantum computation before full fault tolerance today on arxiv - lead by the. great @ZoltanZimboras - super happy to be involved- it was the result of a three day discussion group at a workshop in Lapland last year
