@FinasterideInfo Kelsey, my heart is broken. Despite everything you were going through, you gave every last part of your energy to improve the lives of others around you. A true hero in my eyes. We’ll never forget you ❤️ pfsfoundation.org/news/kelsey-si…
A milestone moment for everyone suffering with PSSD
(1/2) Today, at the @SMSNA_ORG Annual Fall Scientific Meeting in Grapevine, Texas, Sue Goldstein of @SDSexualMed will give a presentation titled ‘Sexual Symptoms and Biologic Pathophysiologies of Post-SSRI Sexual Dysfunction: A 15-Year Review.’ www1.statusplus.net/misc/posters/s…
The FDA approved Lexapro for 7 year olds in 2023. The FDA also ignored the PSSD Citizens’ Petition in 2018. Do you think the FDA actually cares about your health or your child’s?
Beyond the Label: The Lifelong Sexual and Emotional Damage Linked to SSRIs. The greatest medical scandal of our generation is unfolding in silence, and its victims are the young, the vulnerable, and the trusting. A devastating condition the pharmaceutical industry hopes you…
Last weekend, Carmen (@PSSDnomorelove) spoke about Post-SSRI Sexual Dysfunction (PSSD) at a medical conference in Madrid, Spain. She spoke about her experience suffering from PSSD for 11 years and has since been invited to write a paper for a Spanish medical journal.
To learn about the latest research on the biology of orgasms, consider reading this narrative review titled "Orgasms, sexual pleasure, and opioid reward mechanisms," which Professor James Pfaus published this summer in the journal Sexual Medicine Reviews. academic.oup.com/smr/article/13…
It is my strongest belief that SSRIs should be banned for anyone under the age of 18. You cannot possibly justify giving drugs with such poor efficacy to children which could irreversibly sexually castrate them. The risk is not “rare”, it’s 1 in 216!
Nutritional therapist @justinnault made an informative Instagram video about Post-SSRI Sexual Dysfunction (PSSD). He emphasized the continued failure of the @US_FDA to require any warnings for PSSD.
The vast majority of people are not explicitly warned about the totality of sexual side effects they might experience on the drugs. And are certainly not being warned about the risk of PSSD . Many people report being deterred from doing their own research. Preventable tragedy
It literally is a national health emergency and it’s being completely ignored
"The crazy thing to me, in your book, you say that these are actually prescribed to sex offenders to reduce their sex drive" Podcast host @TudorDixon speaks to Professor @joannamoncrieff about the sexual effects of SSRIs, mentioned in her new book Chemically Imbalanced.
"This is criminal, as far as I'm concerned. Robbing someone of the human experience should be criminal. How can this continue?" @TudorDixon speaks about the experience of Audrey Bahrick, a female PSSD sufferer who was mentioned in @joannamoncrieff's book Chemically Imbalanced.
Been living this hell for five years now.
"That is the thing that hurts, because it's not fixable. So for some women, they will literally have no feeling in their genitals." American actor and comedian @RobSchneider discusses Post-SSRI Sexual Dysfunction (PSSD) with internist and addiction medicine specialist @drdrew.
"These effects can actually become permanent, so that when people have stopped the antidepressants, they might be incapacitated for life, and in some cases, this has caused people to commit suicide" @PGtzsche1 explains Post-SSRI Sexual Dysfunction (PSSD) to @patrickbetdavid.
This is similar to saying (perhaps in the 1970s): ‘although a lot of people seem to get very similar symptoms after long term smoking, there are lots of reasons why cancers occur including asbestos, stress and genetics. We should be multi-factorial in our assessment.’ (1/3)
PSSD is the gentle way of saying permanent sexual castration from SSRIs
"It stands for Post-SSRI Sexual Dysfunction, and from my perspective, this is the biggest scandal in psychiatry going on at the moment that has not been discussed." @DrJosefWD explains the basics of Post-SSRI Sexual Dysfunction (PSSD) while @TuckerCarlson listens, aghast.
No informed consent. These ‘doctors’ are a joke.
If you listen to nothing else today, listen to her story. This is a detransitioner who had a double mastectomy at the age of 14. Listen to her story. Especially if you have children who are confused. Especially if you have been brainwashed to think it’s not child abuse to do this…
A reminder to all the psychiatrists who think you’re doing your patients a favour by providing them with short-lived anxiety relief and reassurance that PSSD is “astronomically rare” and that the chances of a patient developing it are very small. You’re not.
"One person looks at, like, a thousand reports a week, so when they see, you know, sexual dysfunction from an antidepressant, they look at the case report and they just go, 'I don't really have time to follow up on this one'" @taperclinic on why the @US_FDA misses rare events.
"Now, these folks who have been exposed to ashwagandha, they're reporting genital numbness and loss of sexual sensation... a complete loss of libido... anhedonia—which is the inability to feel pleasure" @taperclinic explains ashwagandha syndrome, which has similarities to PSSD.
I woke up one morning and instantly knew something has gone terribly wrong, something's wrong with my body, and I quickly realized I'd lost all sexual sensation in my body... -Emily Grey, co-founder of the Canadian Post-SSRI Sexual Dysfunction Society buff.ly/yLVvBzf
This is an amazing illustration. Lexapro made me feel exactly like this when I was on it, and so-called “professionals” tried to convince me that it was helping me. It wasn’t.
No mental illness causing tactile numbing of the genitals. SSRIs have been reported to do this since the beginning. This is disastrous for sales of drugs and client retention of psychiatrists so they lie about it.
"Doctors these days can't do that. They don't listen to the patient, they don't believe what they're being told, which is: 'Doc, a week ago, before you put me on these pills, my libido was great.'" @DrDavidHealy discusses the rise of medical gaslighting since the 1950s.
