Right now, the presidential library system allows donations of unlimited value from anonymous donors and even foreign governments. Today, I introduced commonsense reforms with @SenWarren, @SenBlumenthal, @Rep_Stansbury, & @RepRaskin to subject every president to new ethics rules.

Rep. Jared Moskowitz is proposing a change to House rules: The chamber has to stay in session during a shutdown.
Week two of the shutdown and the House still hasn’t shown up for work. Federal workers and service members are working without pay, yet Congress gets paid for inaction. So I’m proposing a House Rules change: stay in session until the shutdown ends. No paid vacation.

I filed this resolution today to change the House Rules: Congress should not be able to leave on a paid vacation when government is closed and federal workers and servicemembers are working without a paycheck.

The hostages coming home is amazing news. My thoughts are with the families who have waited for this day. Under the plan, my hope is that this leads to an end to the war and peace in the region. Historic day for the region, @POTUS, @SecRubio, @SteveWitkoff, @jaredkushner.
Recently wrapped my first meeting with this year’s Congressional Youth Cabinet! I was happy to be joined by @FAUpresident to discuss public service and the importance of staying involved in our community. Looking forward to hearing more from these young leaders this school year!

Proud to support this bipartisan package from @RepJoshG honoring the victims of October 7 and ensuring we never forget that horrific day. These bills will help educate the next generation about the scourge of antisemitism with one clear message: never again means never again.

Two years ago the world watched in horror as innocent lives were taken and families were torn apart by Hamas’ horrific attack on Israel. The world hasn’t been the same. We remember those killed, demand the hostages’ return, and stand with families living with the pain of Oct. 7.
I was grateful to sit down with workers from @AFSCME to hear how recent decisions out of Washington are threatening the programs they rely on. Our government should work for working families — and that means taking real, concrete steps to protect their lifesaving health care.

Florida’s workers don’t get paid for not doing their jobs, so why should members of Congress? If the government isn’t open, members shouldn’t be paid. As long as the government is shutdown I will be foregoing my paycheck. Let’s find a bipartisan solution and reopen for the…

Yom Kippur is the holiest day of our year. It's meant for reflection and peace. It's heartbreaking to see it be marred today by violence in Manchester. My heart is with the victims, their families, and the entire Jewish community. Antisemitism can have no place in our world.
Wishing a blessed and meaningful Yom Kippur to you and your loved ones. May this Day of Atonement bring you clarity, renewal, and peace, and may all who observe be sealed for a good year. G'mar Chatima Tova!

Democrats are at the table to keep the government open and protect lower health care premiums. House Republicans are refusing to do both. Families can't afford higher costs or a government shutdown.

Shana Tova! Wishing a happy and healthy new year to all those beginning Rosh Hashanah celebrations tonight.

Reminder on today's #NationalAppChallengeDay that we're a little over a month away from the October 30 submission deadline for this year’s Congressional App Challenge. We look forward to seeing the innovative apps you come up with!

September 11, 2001 was one of the darkest days in our nation’s history. We can #NeverForget what happened that day, the lives we lost, the bravery of law enforcement and first responders, and the sacrifice of the men and women who put their lives on the line to defend our nation.

Multiple schools today faced traumatizing, needless instances of gun violence. It happened in 2018 at my high school Marjory Stoneman Douglas, and today it happened at Utah Valley University and Evergreen High School in Colorado. This can't be the norm. We need action.

Today's attack on Charlie Kirk is reprehensible. Political violence can never be an option and must not become normalized into our country.
For more than 75 years, the NATO alliance has been a cornerstone of global security. It's critical it stay that way and we stand with our allies. As a member of @HouseForeign, I'll continue to stand with Poland, defend NATO, and deter Putin's ongoing, unprovoked aggression.
I'm relieved to hear that Elizabeth is finally coming home. I long pushed officials to do more to secure her release, and more than 900 days after her unjust kidnapping at the hands of Kataib Hezbollah, this news is long overdue.

In their ongoing campaign of distraction, my colleagues across the aisle found a new target: January 6. We won't let their effort rewrite that dark day. I look forward to serving on this Judiciary subcommittee that can only be described as a giant waste of time & taxpayer money.
