Everyone apparently agrees we want our cities to look more like this. Everyone agrees it is apparently illegal to build like this in our cities. We ostensibly live in a democracy, so what *exactly* is preventing us from getting the outcome we all apparently want?

Unpopular opinion: 4% is a low GDP growth rate. If we get out of our own way and unleash American ingenuity we can grow substantially faster. This is about moving from a permission-based economy to a free-to-build economy.

GDP growth is currently an outstanding 3.9%, and AI is 40% of that. It’s easy for politicians to posture and grandstand by beating up on tech. But the real question is whether they want 4% growth rates or 2% growth rates.

Been wanting this for years

You guys really just need to rebuild those towers. Hell, Rome should fix the Colosseum while we're at it. Enough naval gazing about your losses. Time to build great things in defiance of thermodynamics.

It sure would be interesting to have @JoshuaSteinman do a postmortem on installed hardware, network connectivity and if they had Bambu printers installed. Recently purchased a cable from Amazon. Oddly large connectors on each end. When plugged into a machine on the production…

I wonder if there's an arbitrage in protecting Chilean fishing grounds in exchange for more minerals.

I would argue that Curtis Yarvin is more of a meta-monarchist rather than a pure monarchist.

Great reason to hop onboard the distributed electrical network, solar batteries, etc.

There are about 9, up to 12 critical substations in North America that would completely take the grid down if they were successfully attacked. I imagine it’s a similar situation in Russia, although I know they’ve prioritized hardening their grid and they’ve spent money on it

the "overcapacity" isn't a market failure. it's deliberate economic warfare to ensure no one else can manufacture. and it's working. look at how much us and eu manufacturing capacity has declined while china's dominates.

nice article, funny watching people learn in realtime that post-industrial society and services based economies are fake. the higher calling will always be to build ever increasingly complex things in the real world. we need to become hyper industrial (education+trades+industry).

Yes. No one else will tell you this truth. Do you imagine I care about consensus positions or being misportrayed on this need to deal scientists into the prosperity that all comes from what THEY provided for others? Ha ha ha. I’m all in on this. Here goes: you were all…

Totally agree with Trump here: we should actively and eagerly look to outsource the production of critical goods to friendly nations with a comparative advantage in the production of said goods, and then freely trade them for dollars and/or US goods & services
