Best book I read in 2025 by a margin. The history of economic thought isn't part of the standard curriculum, so this was overdue. Keynes' wayward life as a public intellectual was fascinating as well — the smartest person that nobody listened to.

The death of philosopher Helen De Cruz leaves a gaping hole--in the world of philosophy but most of all in the life of her family. It's heartbreaking to see Helen's children left without her. Please consider donating or sharing their story. Every bit helps. Thank you.…

Simone Weil has so much to tell us about humanity's contemporary and historical issues with roots, exile, and migration. This is an incredible time to read and think with Weil and a group of engaged scholars. Submit your abstract to our colloquy by Sept. 30.

Imagine someone saying: "A parent is someone who biologically produced a child. Someone who adopts a child is not a parent." We can use words how we want & can choose to use "parent" in a more or less inclusive way. Likewise, how we choose to use the word "woman" is up to us.

“As Anora suggests, sex work is labor and a genre. To be profitable, sex workers must act in established genres, performing (male) fantasies of female attention, sexuality, and desire, wrapped in an aura of authenticity.” popmatters.com/anora-sex-work….
