I love when the night woods suddenly explodes with activity. A pack in the distance. Owls talking. A fox screams. A doe bleats. Then silence.
Showed my grandfather a soap bubble pipe I had when I was 4. He grabbed it, said “watch this” and blew his cigarette smoke through it. I was amazed. My mother was not pleased.
i was cool once, at 7 years old pretending the steam of my breath in the cold was cigarette smoke. watching it drift and vanish in the air like a ghost. all of it, gone with the wind.
Sport and outdoors this weekend. Ate food from our yard and local farm community. Windows open. My youngest is inside strumming a guitar. Life is good.
