When autistic people are more likely to suffer from suicidal thoughts and suicide attempts and potentially make up 40% of suicides, suicide prevention has to include increasing recognition, access to support, and understanding for all autistic people. #WorldSuicidePreventionDay

Autistic adults typically had equal or greater use of all services than the general population. Despite high levels of primary care use, frequent ED visits and hospitalizations may indicate that autistic adults continue to have unmet primary care needs [7/8]

How we think and talk about autism has real impact on autistic people. The medical model seeks to identify what's "wrong" with a person and how to fix it. The messages that autistic people need "fixing" is ableist, discriminatory, and impacts these outcomes ⬆️
