Keep SQL Server error logs clean of errors that do not require DBA action. Prevents having to filter through these daily in troubleshooting.

Periodically, upon every major revision release, update the dev environment with a recent copy of production data. Stage & test is a must.

The end goal is being successful - be inclusive of dev projects and timelines, run in stage pre-prod, peer reviews, release plans, fallback.

Deployment of a new database to production should include a review of the database settings. Especially if using a backup restore method.

A good disaster recovery plan will be one that any computer literate person can read and follow it. Don't assume a DBA will perform tasks.

In securing your quest for ultimate victory - integrity strengthens character while belief in self delivers your dreams of success
