Listening to Hallucinations by Oliver Sacks on OverDrive now as I work on my #MUEmTech spreadsheet. Does anyone have recommendations for nonfiction audiobooks? There are so many options and the automatic recs almost never appeal to me, lol
Checking out OverDrive. I like the variety of audiobooks available and easy navigation on my laptop. I haven’t tried the app or Libby yet bc all these new apps for #MUEmTech are starting to clutter up my phone. Not a bad problem to have tho!
The frustrating thing about using Merlin Bird ID is that for all its ID features, all I catch sight of are crows (still great birds!). When it isn’t crows, I often can’t recall the primary colors to help narrow it down. I’ll try out Photo ID to see if it will help. #MUEmTech
Google Maps is my navigation go to but I really love Waze’s share drive tool. It lets you share the visual of your current route and your real time progress over a text. Incredibly helpful. #MUEmTech
MigraineBuddy is pushing me to be way more thoughtful about my migraines and their triggers. The recording tool is really thorough and after several entries it creates a report of common features. Would recommend. #MUEmTech
Has anyone else struggled with Hoopla’s app freezing? Streaming or playing downloaded music is great on the desktop but mobile will barely respond. I’m loving the service so this is such a bummer. #MUEmTech
I’ll admit to probably not being the right audience for Todoist (I don’t enjoy schedule planners) but the fact that reminders are a premium feature is ridiculous. What is the point if it doesn’t remind you? I’ll stick with my iPhone calendar or reminder apps if needed, thanks.
Moodpath is nice as a basic mood tracker. The layout is easy to navigate, the daily prompts vary over the 3 daily sessions, and it promises an assessment at the end of 2 weeks. But the paywall stops it from being a go to for emotional health info. #MUEmTech
The RB Digital app seems easy to navigate and the audiobook play features let you change the reading speed, adjust the chapter, bookmark, and set a sleep timer easily. Maybe this will finally help me get into audiobooks. #MUEmTech
The Merlin Bird ID is super easy to use for a beginner birder. It asks simple questions about the bird’s appearance and location and follows with high quality photos and audio to help ID it. #MUEmTech
Hoopla has La Fille du Regiment! The only opera I know and love! It’s a bummer that music streaming only lasts a week and there is a limit on 8 titles/month but it’s free, no commercials and the audio quality is excellent. Chalk it up as a win #MUEmTech
Kami is fine for onsite PDF annotation but failed to sync my comments when uploaded to Google Drive. Not sure if it’s any more convenient than annotating directly through Docs or even the Apple Books app. #MUEmTech
Trying my hand at learning a second language with Memrise, not sure how it stacks up against Duolingo yet but it’s fun so far! #MUEmTech
