It was a pleasure to open our first women’s only gym - Serenity in Ilford, this morning. For many reasons women and girls might want or need their own space and our fantastic gym does that and includes a lounge, showers, changing rooms, studio and lots of exercise equipment !

This week we held our regular Ilford Town Street Surgery, focusing on fly-tipping, noise, neighbourhood & housing issues. Officers shared updates on casework & outcomes of complaints. Residents welcomed the joined-up approach & real progress on the ground.

Productive Councillors’ Street Surgery in Ilford Town Ward today. Residents raised challenges around parking and specific antisocial behaviour, which we’ll be taking forward. We also updated them on the progress and outcomes of recent casework in the area. #Ilfordtownward

Fairlop Waters used to be called RAF Fairlop & played a crucial role in WW2. I joined local people, MPs & children to mark #VEDay80. We honoured the service personnel & volunteers from Redbridge & across the world - many who made the ultimate sacrifice. We will remember them.

Very effective sessions on collective actions to ensure equality, rights and empowerment of women and girls at the #CSW69 marking #Beijing30. Excited to return as a @UNWomenUK participant. Looking forward to learn from global leaders on best practices and share experience.

So much to be proud of in Redbridge, but the talent commitment and courage of the children who performed at the 25th Choral & music festival last night at the @RoyalAlbertHall is right up there. Amazing show & well done to @DoMore, Redbridge music service, schools and teachers!
