As the final day of balloting for industrial action approaches on Thursday 9 May, on day 4 of #UnFayre students confessed they were already experiencing the disruptive effects of the OPS restructuring as they prepare for exams in a library without enough workers to staff it.

As students learned about attacks on professional services staff as well as teaching staff, like Feyzi Ismail many remarked that the university can’t teach the history of neoliberalism and austerity while also trying to impose it at the same time. Not without our resistance.
Its a reminder that the contest between workers and management at SOAS is also fundamentally about the kind of university we deserve: a humane learning environment or an assembly line.
