I KNOW we’re being environmentally conscious but honestly these tiny wooden spoons are ridiculous. They could at least have a handle long enough to not get yoghurt all over your hands 🫠
5 different trains and 10 hours later I am now less than an hour away from hugging my kidsssss. Berlin is great but not much can compete with that.
As part of my upcoming Starting Grant funded by @DFF_raad, I'm hiring a postdoc interested in isotopes to begin May 2025! Please share, and contact me or find me at hashtag #AGU24 if you have any questions. ⚛ 🌧 🍃 @AarhusUni_int @AarhusUni @NatSci_AU international.au.dk/about/profile/…

surfaceimperfections.com ALL my stuff is 40% off for the entire month. If you need some imperfections textures, super realistic flashlights, or some fun subpixel texture maps, this is the time.
#Archaeobotany twitter, does this look familiar to anyone? I have a bunch of these in one of my waterlogged Mesolithic samples. I feel like they give off pedicel vibes and they look very characteristic, but nobody seems to know what they are and which species!
Update! 📝 doi/10.3828/hgr.2024.15 My article is now officially published, with no less than 2(!) of my old fellow @AU_Archaeology students, @ll_herskind and @KamillaLomborg in the same volume🎉 Massive congrats to us, guys 🇩🇰😎😉

My job is generally pretty damn fantastic, but some days are even better than others. Yesterday was fabulous as I got to meet this beauty. Twine / yarn made of plant fibre by human hands more than 7000 years ago. #archaeobotany highlights 😍😭
Finally became an academic grown-up: my first publication as first-author is out 🍾 My master’s thesis on Neanderthal lithic procurement strategies investigated through ABM has been digested into something readable. Enjoy! liverpooluniversitypress.co.uk/doi/10.3828/hg…

While often amazing to look at plants from the Mesolithic, you develop a new sort of frustration with mollusks. The way the shells break down into little fluffy fibres makes the water so murky, every time you start a new scoop of sample you have to wait 5 mins for it to settle!🫠
In just around 12 hours I leave for another country, where I will be learning and working and severely missing my husband and kids who are staying at home. 3 months. A privilege and a challenge like no other I’ve faced for quite a while. Such is #momademia

New Editorial: "Pretty privilege" rdcu.be/dR0Gh Botanically inclined scientists know about plant blindness, the common tendency to overlook flora and concentrate on fauna. But we are similarly afflicted by aesthetic opinions with serious consequences for conservation.
