Also any Interest rate increase directly impacts Business borrowing, therefore putting up prices, hence increasing inflation. These clowns will not be happy until they force a recession. Doubt it causes the BOE staff a moments thought with the salaries they are on

Can any of you Economic nerds explain why the BOE think that raising interest rates will reduce inflation. My thoughts are that any increase costs Govt Borrowing more in interest payments, therefore more tax requirements to pay for the same service. Outcome austerity.
