Today we celebrate the birthday of Firefighter David Cash from Kilchoan Fire Station, who has turned 70 today and is still going strong, having just passed his BA Refresher, what a fantastic achievement and I want to thank David for his steadfast commitment to his community.
Crews from across Highland and Argyll worked hard to extinguish a large wildfire in Acharacle over the past few days. The generosity of the community and local businesses in looking after our welfare during the incident has been incredible. 🙏🚒 Huge thanks to all who helped!
The Lochaline fire crew will attend the fundraiser tomorrow at Lochaline Social club..get your car washed while you enjoy a BBQ and live music 🎵🫧 and help support local charities Ewen’s Room, Highland Hospice and Lochaber Hope
Last night was FF David Curtis’s final drill night at Kilchoan community fire station, as he retires after a fantastic 30 years service to his community. We wish David all the best in his retirement 🚒 🎂

Last week crews from across Lochaber tackled a large grassfire at GlenUig @amaroxlea took this amazing timelapse showing how the fire developed. Crews worked hard through the night to successfully protect the properties in the vicinity of the fire 🚒

Monday night training night for the Lochaline crew - this week is pump drills from open water 💦🚒 This is part of essential ongoing training for the crew but also development for our trainees on station.
The risk of wildfires is real and weather conditions can determine how much they spread. Strong winds, high temperatures or low rainfall can leave vegetation primed to fuel a fire. Think twice before lighting anything outdoors. ➡️ow.ly/jqea50QTBvW #WildfirePrevention
⚠️ A VERY HIGH wildfire warning has been issued for south and west of Scotland ⚠️ The warning is in place on Wednesday, 24 April and Thursday, 25 April. People who live within or enters the area should be extra cautious and avoid naked flame outdoors.

First day of the On call T&TM at Oban students from Lochmaddy, Strontian, Kilchoan, Kinlochleven, Coll, Ardfern & Tarbert learning new skills to help them in their new careers. If you would like to become an On call fire fighter contact your local fire station and ask about PREP
SC King delivered some input tonight to crews from Strontian and Lochaline stations concerning marine and ship firefighting. Also, in attendance were members of HM Coastguard for some input and joint training. This was to give a deeper insight for crews for future incidents.
