Latin hymns conference at Oxford in Sept. In-person only. Come one, come all! Registration free but required. classics.ox.ac.uk/event/the-lati… @OxMedStud

I notice that the learned editors of _The Library_ have set my recent article to be downloadable for free, for the time being: academic.oup.com/library/articl… So, if you are interested in medieval libraries or John Fastolf or the role of Latin, there's some reading awaiting you.
Today was my day to take stock of what I have published recently: bonaelitterae.wordpress.com/2024/09/22/wha…
With the greatest pride I present: For over two years, the #OG_H_AM project, with the expert support of Daniel Bălteanu (Communications Office, @MaynoothUni) has been producing an info video about the ogam script and ogam texts. It was launched yesterday: youtu.be/wN_5lhovPbw

Scribe in 1470 writes 'turn over' and 'turn over the page'. Planning the lay-out is difficult! This is probably the first neat (presentation/promotion?) copy of a Middle Dutch translation of #Boethius De consolatione philosophiae, by Bruges goldsmith Jacob Vilt. @UniUtrechtLib

It doesn't happen every day you're allowed to (or have reason to) handle such a precious medieval binding.

One of the most dangerous enemies of #manuscripts is dust: It provides nesting material for insects and is an incubator for mould spores. The new episode of our video series on #Nepalese manuscripts deals with appropriate cleaning measures. Full version: csmc.uni-hamburg.de/news/2024-07-2…
Always a joy being involved in @TeachingCodex (go and follow them if you don’t already!)

Our colleagues arrive in Puducherry @ifp_india and @EFEO_Paris today to start examining historical palm-leaf #manuscripts in our Container Lab. Our local partners have built a superb palm roof over it to protect it from the heat: It's now all set and stays there until late 2025
