While it may sound controversial I never open doc/docx files from unknown senders so almost every doc/docx resume sent to me directly goes to trash. PDF is the only acceptable format.
Are PDF resumes a bad idea? I really don't like the idea of putting my nicely designed resume into a Word doc, knowing it's just going to butcher any type of formatting... Do I need to just get over it?
