Tree people, we came across this smallish, multi-stemmed tree in Bath Botanical Gardens today and it has us stumped. Apparently deciduous, leaves nearly as thick as a holly. Apps uncooperative. Ideas? @TreeRegister @TheStreetTree @TiCLme

This is the first American sycamore (Platanus occidentalis) I’ve knowingly seen in the UK - #KewGardens of course! Despite being one genetic parent of the common, hybrid, #Londonplane, it’s unusual in this country Have you seen one growing anywhere else in Britain ? 🌳🇬🇧🤔

There was a time when people were visiting #Bermondsey from around the world, thanks to Ada Salter’s tree-planting and urban planning efforts that made it an international example of improved living standards for all. Learn more about it 10.30am-12.30, Sat 11th October.

@TheStreetTree RIP to the Gransden Ave chitalpa. I remarked a couple of weeks ago it needed some remedial pruning to correct the typical top heaviness and lean; instead Hackney council decided to nuke it 😥

@TheStreetTree Finally got round to finish reading your latest edition of London's Street Trees. Definitely the best edition and an excellent book. Loved the inclusion of the Chinese Yellowwood 100 metres from me. It flowers about every other year.

I have just released London tree tour dates for October. I will be running four tours across town over two weekends. Something for everyone! (as long as they like trees of course). Book now. eventbrite.co.uk/o/paul-wood-14…

This is the time of year when you come across intriguingly-shaped fruits and think “I ought to know what that is”. This thread might help you out.
