If you're a beginner: pick a programming language and stick with it until you're comfortable with the basic concepts. Don't hop from language to language.
In my life, I created 200+ software projects from scratch. Some became successful OSS projects. Some were abandoned. Some are even still used to bring revenue. It’s surreal for me to read how so many people have the extreme opposite experience.

We have built @TeamShiksha over the past many years - there are learning opportunities almost every month, projects spanning multi-quarters and a lot of fun in between across swags, outings and a plethora of opportunities. Over the past few months, we have seen a lot of members…
Referrals != LinkedIn Connections and asking strangers. Sorry, not sorry.
There’s a lot of noise around job referrals in today’s hiring world... some even see them as a universal golden ticket. But the truth is, a referral means something only if it comes from someone who genuinely knows your work and believes in your fit. Random or bonus-driven…

This got me inspired. I might want to start a new C++ project with beginner-friendly opportunities to contribute. It would be nice to add C++ repo to my GitHub profile. Plus, I love mentorship.
I'm 25, turning 26 this month. I switched from physics to tech just a few months ago. I started learning programming with no connections in tech - and yes, of course, I often feel lost, alone, and behind. But as @ThePrimeagen said, for people like us, there’s more reason and…

The disease of fake "independence" and "patriotism" is running deep in our system. It's being misused to siphon funds from genuine work that could actually be done out of here. This is also more insecure than the upstream postgres because it looks like it is still stuck at 17.4…
Did IIT Madras just cloned postgres, renamed it to shaktidb, and released it as "indian database to reduce dependence on foreign interests". Closed source btw.
