I say "what's the worst thing that can happen" a lot. If you give the worst presentation ever, people will forget about it in 0.5 seconds. If you apply for a job, the worst thing that they can say is 'no" This doesn't disqualify or kill you. Don’t be afraid to take up space.
First-year student: “Is it normal that I can read code but need to Google how to write a loop?” Me: “Yes. Being a developer is basically just professional Googling. Don't worry too much about it.”
In 2022 I said on a panel: “I like Blazor because I don’t like JavaScript or JS frameworks.” In 2025, my talks are split almost 50/50 between C# and VueJS. Funny how things evolve.
