I’m enjoying coverage of the latest Donald Trump trial in which he is arguing that Presidents should have absolute immunity from prosecution. I assume that if he wins this line of argument, Biden will immediately instruct special forces to assassinate him. Oh the irony! 😂😂😂
What a contrast Anna Hall is to D Trump. She was brave, gave everything, and met defeat with integrity, despite the pain it must have caused her. I suspect the future will bring her victory, but even if it doesn’t: she will always be a winner and DJ Trump will always be a loser
This is a picture of Anna Hall. She is embracing and smiling at KJT, who has just beaten her to a gold medal by a tiny margin at the world athletics championships. What a credit this woman is to her competitive nation. I suspect her day will come, more than once.
I read that England players were banned from showing solidarity with an oppressed group of people by wearing LBTQ+ armbands during their World Cup match v Iran. Yet both teams are brazenly showing support for Iranian women by playing without wearing headscarves
I’ve never been a big supporter of Trade Unions, but chapeaux to the Unison members in Kent who refused to unload Russian gas (LNG) in the Isle of Grain today. I guess it will mean even higher gas prices, but Personally I think it’s worth it.
So pleased to see USGA taking a small bit of responsibility for their failure to safeguard girls and women in their care. I hope we will now see the imprisonment of those who failed to take the complaints seriously. The women who stopped Nassar are true modern heroes.
Can we really hope that in a post-Trumpian world, that justice may mean something? Might it really mean that the law will protect the innocent and hold the guilty to account, even if they are rich or powerful. Might the innocent and the vulnerable, actually be allowed to breathe?
Wow. Chauvin is guilty. It shouldn’t be wow, because his crime is so blatantly obvious. But the truth is that America has a horrific history of finding white policemen innocent when they abuse black people. Am I hoping for too much that we might be entering a post-Trump world?
Personally I would go further (even more extreme?) and suggest that black people should also have the same rights as everyone else, and be free from repression, discrimination and insult. I am horrified to discover that some people might think of this view as an extreme one!
I’m seriously fed up with hearing Black Lives Matter protesters described as ‘extremists’. Their (really very moderate) point is that it is not OK to arbitrarily kill people because they are black. What kind of sick perverted mind considers this to be an ‘extreme’ point of view?
Apparently Donald Trump suggested to the CPAC conference today that: “I may even decide to beat them [The Democrats] for a third time”. By ‘beat’ he clearly means ‘get less votes than’. This explains a lot about how he considers himself a ‘winner’.
A bright day for those around the world who believe in truth, honesty, decency and integrity. Good luck Joe Biden.
Historians will analyse how close democracy came to dying in the USA. If it had died, no doubt many other democracies around the world would also have fallen. My bet is that British democracy would have survived, but survived in a cold and hostile world.
My sincerest condolences to everyone @wessexwater and particularly the family and friends of those lost. This is a tragedy that will be felt throughout our industry for many years to come. I know you are in the thoughts of all my colleagues @sewateruk.
Thoughts from our CEO Colin Skellett after his visit to Avonmouth today (4 December 2020), following yesterday's incident.
Do you mean: look at what he has done to your country?
Sen. Kelly Loeffler: "Look what Donald Trump has done for our country."
Is it possible that by holding press conferences in parking lots next to porn shops, and dripping hair dye down his face, Giuliani is actually tipping us the wink about what he really thinks of the cases he is being paid to advocate?
This is genuinely interesting. I think history will view Trump very harshly. The one positive entry I can see for him, is that he has genuinely avoided the trap that most US presidents fall into of ‘making use of their military toys’. Trump has actually resisted this temptation.

This is fabulous. The young woman behind the speaker is either trying not to break wind, or trying not to giggle in response to what she is hearing. You take your pick.
"We will not be intimidated...We are going to clean this mess up now. President Trump won by a landslide. We are going to prove it. And we are going to reclaim the United States of America for the people who vote for freedom."—Sidney Powell
Johnson has also showed some (albeit erratic) respect for truth and science in a way that Trump has not. He now has the opportunity to show he is a civilised human being, and that he only ever pandered to Trump in the interest of UK diplomatic relationships.
I put a question mark next to Boris Johnson as a populist because I think the jury is still out. He has undoubtedly used the language and tactics of populists, and pandered to populists such as Trump. But has he done so out of pragmatism or genuine belief?
