We have a deal. Decision to provide 90 billion euros of support to Ukraine for 2026-27 approved. We committed, we delivered.
The EU has set itself an ambitious agenda - focused on security, competitiveness, and social cohesion. We need a long-term EU budget that gives us the means to achieve these ambitions. Time is of the essence to have the new budget up and running as of 2028.
Enlargement is the EU’s most important geostrategic investment in peace, security, stability, and prosperity. Today at EUCO, we discussed the way forward: both future member states and our institutions must get ready for our Union to grow. This will make the EU stronger.
Peace is not cheap. It is priceless. Since the start of Russia’s aggression, the people of Ukraine have been paying the ultimate price for their freedom. Europe remains resolute in supporting them for as long as it takes. Dear President @ZelenskyyUa, welcome back to the #EUCO.
