Every West Midlands transport project involving Metro and Sprint expansion is over budget and delayed. The Metro trams involve putting them on two mainline railways in order to get the TRAINS back! "Light rail investment provides the basis for restoring heavy rail services"!

This could be said, too of the idiots giving away two former mainline railways to the W Mids Combined Authority (and its predecessors) knowing they would be part converted to tramways and, therefore, spoilt for ever.

Andrew Tromans is right about weed killing glyphosate. Use Wilko's red bottled alternative instead. What's it called, someone out there?

It ONLY connects the communities of London and Manchester & some trains will stop in Brum, Crewe. It's for plane passengers to give them the choice of either flying through the air on land or in the air. In growing the economy it grows GHG emissions & therefore leading to ecocide

NO increase in capacity.  It only adds one railway line between edge of London and Manchester after the destruction of one mainline up the backbone of England and one on W side of Brum between Worcester & Derby.  A foolish and stupid piece of idiocy, incompetence and ignorance.

Prized and paraded for tourists to admire - courtesy of Cumbrian farmers. There were 32 of them all lined up so neatly like Roman crucifixions along the side of the road! But this was on the side of an important circular footpath well promoted in a walk leaflet.

Essential vehicles use the nearside and overtaking lane with traffic light priority for them. Car commuters who pay the penalty every day are only allowed to use the overtaking lane. This encourages more people to leave their cars at home and jump on a free bus, train, tram.

These drivers must register to have the right to drive in daytime, Mon to Fri, because of their work. The car commuters who do not register are then picked up by CCTV and fined. The money goes to Fare-Free Pubic Transport for all and the phasing out of diesel buses for electric.

I'm suggesting a virtuous circle by more reward than penalty to educate and appeal to car commuters that they must free up the limited road space for essential business vehicle users, like buses, HGV drivers, district nurses, midwives etc who have to use their vehicles. ...

You've missed out greedy, greenhouse gas emitting, wealth flaunting HS2, Metro, Sprint, Alastair.

Covid. Ukraine. The mad mini-budget. Austerity. General Tory incompetence and waste. All factors in the current economic mess. But BREXIT is right up there with all of them. Yet the people in power don’t want to say so. Madness. You can’t fix what you won’t admit is broke

I need someone to explain to me why it’s always “if you can’t pay rent, buy fewer lattes and avocado toasts” and not “if you can’t pay your employees a living wage, buy fewer yachts and real estate”. Explain it to me like I’m in kindergarten.
